Versatile, resilient, versatile, predatory, cannibalistic and fierce.
Walleye feed mainly on fish. It is not very selective and feeds according to the availability of prey. It also eats insects, leeches, crayfish, slugs, small snakes and salamanders, frogs and small mammals.
Lucifuge, this species is often fished in the evening, at night or at dawn. In cloudy water, it is active all day. It is highly sought after for its delicious flesh and for the combat it can offer during its capture.

Before going fishing
Make sure you have a rigid rod (to work your lures well), a reel with a good brake and a braided line between 8 and 20 lbs/test. If you have an 8 to 15 lbs/test fluorocarbon, use it as a leader. You will greatly increase the number and size of your catches. Remember, walleye has excellent vision. I leave you here the way I attach my braided wire to my fluorocarbon.
